Netfilmmakers’ 18.th edition NOISEWOMB curated by southafrican artist and filmmaker Aryan Kaganof launched the 18.th of October online at Netfilmmakers. The curator Aryan Kaganof and artists Catherine Henegan, Isabelle Schiltz and Kerstin Ergenzinger were all present at the Artisttalk in Copenhagen kindly supported by The Danish ArtCouncil.
Usually the Netfilmmakers’ Artisttalks are held at different venues in Copenhagen but this time we chose to host this Artisttalk in Netfilmmakers’ own facilities at Brorsonsgade in the center of Copenhagen. For the artists and curators it was very convenient with hotel, restaurants and cafés and Netfilmmakers in basically the same street but the reason for choosing Netfilmmakers in Brorsonsgade was the possibility to create an intimate atmosphere. The space is on streetlevel in a noisy neighbourhood with room for a sitting audience about 20-30 but more than 40 guests joined us for the talk.
The Artisttalk went very well in the frame of passionate curator Aryan Kaganof. The artists presented their work and the work process behind it; all working with so different materials and media as body and voice, space, animation, trance and memory followed with discussions about authenticity, art, materiality and the internet.
